Health Spa Branding
Meet our client, Taylor.
He works in the fitness industry and noticed most of the nearby health spas were either super expensive or presented themselves more like health clubs for young adults.
“I want to open a health spa with luxury equipment but affordable pricing for the everyday person.”
He had the name, but needed a unifying brand for his store signage, website, marketing materials and merch. After some brainstorming, sketches, and a chat with our vendors, we figured out how to do exactly that.
MISSION
Create branding that’s energetic, friendly, and seeks the balance between modern and organic.
Concept Stage
Sketching | Prototyping | Production Quoting
The first step of any project like this is a Live Session, where our Creative Director brings some research to discuss, explores some ideas live, and then close with a plan for next steps.
In this case, those next steps involved competitor research, sketching, mockups, and some initial conversations with vendors to get a ballpark idea of costs.
Our goal with this branding was to not only find balance between modern and organic styling, but also separate ourselves from local, competing brands. We ended up giving our client three FULL concept boards, which showed logo variations, merch, and signage mockups for each. This is a lot of work on the front end, but gave our client a more rounded idea of the creative opportunities within each concept.
Concept A was the winner!
Development Stage
Styling | Illustrating | Reviewing
With Concept A green-lit and a soft opening date on the books, it was time to strategize production! The Development Stage kicked off with a physical walk-through of Taylor’s location, where we took measurements and photos to use for digital mockups. We also used that time to make a final selection on Pantone swatches and material samples for his folded brochure.
The fabricated signage was our most pressing item, since that had to be approved by a third party, fabricated, then installed on the exterior of the store. Once that was in the works, we switched to paper goods, wall decals, t-shirts, and embroidered hats.
Meanwhile…
Our site designer (using previously-approved wireframes from the Concept Stage) starting building the website and planning content. While we don’t specialize in eCommerce, we also consulted with our client about third-party options for payment processing and appointment booking. Everything was coming together beautifully.
Production & Delivery
Proofing | Printing | Shipping
Juggling staggered production and shipping timelines across various product orders is no small thing; but it feels easy when you’ve got the right partners. Our vendor gave us multiple cost and quality options for the different products, letting our client decide where to allocate budget. Nobody likes a stiff, scratchy tee!
A close eye was also kept on color and brand consistency across the multiple product materials (paper, thread, fabric, and vinyl) so that everything looked cohesive once it was in the same place.
Below is a full list of all the branded items we delivered to our client.
Results
In 2023, Elements Recovery Zone opened it’s friendly doors to the public with crisp signage, fresh merch, a sleek website, and more. We even spotted some of the shirts at a couple local gyms and fitness events! This project was a great example of quickly other things can come together when you build on a solid brand foundation.
